On Carmarthen FansThese walks are generally of about 7 hours duration in mountain or moorland areas and typically involve between 9 and 14 miles in distance and 2,000-4,000 feet of ascent within a day's driving distance of Birmingham. They appeal to Sunday 'A' walkers who don't mind climbing hills and getting off the beaten track to explore wide open spaces and enjoy the panoramas revealed. The Nantl Ridge In addition to the photos you find by clicking on the small images inserted in the text, there is a further selection to the sides of the 2007 programme table.

Come prepared for rough terrain and any kind of weather (good boots with ankle support, no jeans, wind and waterproof cagoule and over-trousers, hat and gloves) and bring enough food and drink for the whole day.

As we travel by minibus, group size is 16 and priority is given to regular walkers of the City of Birmingham Group and to those wanting to walk regularly with the Group. We normally leave Birmingham between 6.45-7.15am and return by 9.00-9.30pm. The cost is in the region of £20 per person depending on numbers. It is n't always sunny

New members who want to take part in the Ridges and Tops programme should normally have been on several Sunday 'A' walks and feel comfortable with the distance and pace of the walks or, if that isn't possible, they should arrange to accompany one of the leaders on a walk preview. Bookings are taken from the dates given in the last column below and a deposit of £10 is required to secure a place. Please contact Honor Dixon (0121 472 2286) for further particulars.
